This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week†spotlight is set yet again on the Swedish music scene with the brand new single from Stockholm quartet Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes. The amount of great music coming out of Sweden at the moment is astounding and as long as it keeps up I am going to do my best to get it all to your ears.
“Closer” hits you with an infectious groove and a killer guitar hook that swirl perfectly around back n’ forth male/female vocals. It’s dreamy and dancey and impossible to resist, making it a song you want to play over and over again.
The members that make up one of the most interestingly named bands in recent history are Edvin Arleskär (drums), Tilde Hansen (vocals, bass), Siri Sjöberg (vocals, synth), and Elias Mahfoud (guitar). The track also features Matilda Wiezell who is a solo artist and  a singer in  the Stockholm indie-band Melby. Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes released two well received singles last year and quickly became a must see live act in their home town. Here’s to hoping we get an EP or full-length from the up and coming band.
