The latest edition in the WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week†spotlight comes to you from brilliant new Vancouver band Peach Pit. The Canadian quartet formed in 2016 and just released their debut full-length album, Being So Normal, on September 15th via Kingfisher Bluez.
Peach Pit are high school friends Neil Smith (guitars, vocals) and Chris Vanderkooy (guitars) who joined rock n’ roll forces with Peter Wilton (bass) and Mikey Pascuzzi (drums) to create their infectious brand of shimmery indie-rock (or as the band calls it “chewed bubblegum pop”) built on dance vibes, 1960’s-style melodies, and jangly guitars. The band released their debut EP, Sweet F.A, in May of 2016 and quickly got the attention of music fans all over the world when their quintessentially quirky videos for the tracks went viral. Needless to say there is quite a lot of anticipation for the band’s new album
Word on the street is that the live act is something to behold and you will get a chance to see Peach Pit do their thing on stage here in Boston Monday, October 9th at Great Scott! A great band with a great stage presence is not to be missed my friends so put this show on your calendar post haste. Tickets and information for all shows on the band’s site.
