The latest edition in the WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week†spotlight comes to you from London band Childcare. The Britpop quartet’s origins go back to 2014 when lead singer Ed Cares decided that rather than be in the childcare profession he would start a rock n’ roll band called Childcare, and on the strength of their debut single, “Omega Grey,” began playing the British music festival circuit.
Their fantastic new song, “Film Club,” was released last week and it is filled to the brim with super-infectious guitar hooks, killer drum beats, bass riffs sharp enough to cut through steel, and back n’ forth vocal prowess that would melt both punk rockers and new wavers hearts. It’s a track you are going to want to play over and over again!
Childcare recently supported Bastille on their tour of England and earned themselves some pretty rave reviews from the band and the crowds. If they keep releasing songs like “Film Club” it won’t be long before they are headliners themselves.
