This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is on the great new single, “Bliss Up,” from Modern Pleasure. It’s the latest song released from the Leeds-based band following two highly acclaimed singles from 2016. The title of the song matches the mood of the music perfectly. It’s blissful, dreamy indie-pop that delivers a message of hope to lift you up when you’re feeling down.

The idea behind Modern Pleasure began around three years ago when guitarists/vocalists Giuseppe De Luca and Scott Johnson–then creating music under the moniker Goodbye Chanel–wrote a bunch of songs together and released a well received EP entitled Hot City Nights. It is a collection of summery, California coast type music that painted a picture of ocean side sunshine not commonly associated with the northern English county of Yorkshire.

The band is now a five piece, and although they have changed their name and added a touch of electronics to the production, their sound remains as sunny and optimistic as ever. A perfect addition to your warm weather playlist.
