This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week†spotlight is on the ridiculously catchy song “Full Screen†from Purchase, NY band Adult Mom. It’s the first single released from their forthcoming sophomore album, Soft Spots, out May 19th via Tiny Engines.
Adult Mom took life in 2012 as talented musician Stephanie Knipe’s solo project while attending Purchase College. It soon blossomed into a band consisting of friends, and equally talented musicians, Olivia Battell, Mike Dvorscak, and Bruce Hamilton.  They released their debut album in 2015 titled, Momentary Lapse of Happily, and quickly found an audience thanks to powerful lyrics and immensely poppy hooks.
The new track, “Full Screen,” is another big step in the eloquent power-pop direction for Knipe as she opens the song with the lyrics “Do you full screen your porn/Do you think of me as you watch her crawl across the floor” and ends with “wasted the warmer months being sad about you/But nature doesn’t get to choose.” The song explores tough questions about being in love with someone that doesn’t quite live up to expectations.
Adult Mom are currently on tour and will be in our area Saturday, March 25th, for a sold out show at The Middle East with Laura Stevenson.
